UPUMCWA Announced UPPGMET 2013 Entrance Dates

UPUMCWA Conducts UPPGMET 2013 On Mar 17
Uttar Pradesh Unaided Medical Colleges Welfare Association (UPUMCWA), Bareilly announced UP Postgraduate Medical Entrance Test (UPPGMET 2013) for admission in M.D/M.S/ Postgraduate Diploma course from the academic session 2013.
Admission will be done as per the merit list prepared in the manner mentioned in this brochure on the basis of marks secured in the above UPPGMET-2013.
Test Pattern:
  • UPPGMET-2013 will be organised for admission in MD/MS/ Post Graduate Diploma Courses for Academic Session 2013-14 in unaided minority as well as non minority member medical colleges of Uttar Pradesh.
  • There will be a total no. of 250 objective type multiple choice questions as per the guideline of syllabus given in the appendix of this brochure.
  • The UPPGMET-2013 will consists of a maximum of 250 marks.
  • Minimum cut-off pass percentage of marks in UPPGMET-2013 shall be 50% (40% in case of SC/ST/OBC) and merit shall be determined on the basis of marks secured in UPPGMET-2013.
  • There will be negative marks of 1/4 for each wrong answer.
  • More than one answer marked in OMR answer sheet will also be considered as wrong answer.

  • The candidate must have completed M.B.B.S. course from an institute duly recognized by Medical Council of India.
  • The Internship of the candidate must be completed before April 01, 2013.
  • The candidate must have his/her registration with State Medical Council / Medical Council of India.

UPSC Conducts SCRA Examination 2013 On 20 January

UPSC's SCRA 2013 Exam Notification
The UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) is all set to conduct the SCRA Examination for the year 2013.
SCRA (Special Class Railway Apprentices) Examination is scheduled to be conducted on the 20th of January 2013. mainly for selection of candidates for appointment as Special Class Apprentices in Mechanical department of Indian Railways will be held by the UPSC in accordance with the Rules published by the Ministry of Railways in the Gazette of India.
The approximate number of vacancies, to be filled on the results of the examinations in 42. Please note that One vacancy is reserved for physically challenged candidates belonging to Orthopaedically Handicapped having functional classifications OA.
Reservations will be made for candidates belonging to Schedule Castes, Schedule Tribes, Other Backward Classes and Physically Disabled categories in respect of vacancies as may be fixed by the Government.
Candidates in order to ensure their Eligibility for the examination should fulfill the eligibility conditions for admissions to the examinations. Their admission at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.
Please note : Verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents is taken up only after the candidate has qualified for Interview/Personality Test.
Eligibility Criteria : A candidates must either be as mentioned below :
(a). A citizen of India (or)
(b). A subject of Nepal (or)
(c). A subject of Bhutan (or)
(d). A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India. (or)
(e). Procedure : The eligible candidates shall be issued an E-admission certificate three weeks before the commencement of the examination. The E-Admission certificate will be made available on the UPSE website for being downloaded by candidates. No Admission certificate will be sent by post or any other means.
All the applicants are required to provide valid and active E-Mail ID, while filling up Online application form as the Commission may use electronic mode for contacting them.
A Few important note to be made by Candidates :
Penalty for Wrong answers : Candidates should note that there will be penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the objective Type Question Papers.
For both writing and marking answers in the OMR sheet, candidates must use black ball pen only. Pens with any other colors are not allowed.
Do not use pencil or ink pen.
Please note that any omission/mistake in filling up the details in the OMR sheet, especially with regard to Roll Number and Test Booklet series code, will render the answer sheet liable for rejection.
Candidates are further advised to read carefully the "Special Instructions" contained in Appendix-III of the Notice.

ASRB Conducts NET 2012 on Jan 20, 2013
Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB), New Delhi conducts National Eligibility Entrance (NET) Examination 2012 on Jan 20, 2013 at 33 centres across the country as per rules of the examination.
NET is a qualifying examination for determining eligibility for Lecturer / Assistant Professor in the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and other Agricultural Universities (AUs). Candidates clearing the National Eligibility Test will be eligible for Lecturers or Assistant Professors in the SAUs/AUs. NET Certificates will be issued to the candidates by the A.S.R.B. to the qualified candidates to enable them to apply against vacancies to be notified or advertised by the State Agricultural Universities. SAUs/AUs will consider their eligibility through interview or any such other tests as devised for recruitment of Lecturers or Assistant Professors.
Test Pattern:
  • There will one paper of 150 marks consisting of 150 objective type multiple choice questions to be solved in 2 (Two) hours. Each question carries one mark. These 150 questions shall be derived from the respective discipline in which the candidate has opted to appear.
  • For General: 60% of qualifying marks.
  • For SC/ST/Physically Challenged 50% of qualifying marks.
  • 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer in the NET examination
Eligibility:
  • A candidate must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in the concerned discipline with specialization completed on or before 1st August, 2012.
  • A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years as on 01.08.2012

  • The candidates seeking admission to NEET examination must pay a fee as below:

  • Other Backward classes: Rs 500/-

CBSE's SGAI 2013 Held On 20 Jan 2013- Notification

What is CBSE SGAI : CBSE (Central Board Of Secondary Education) is heading towards a new test called as SGAI (Student Global Aptitude Index), which is to be held in the upcoming year 2013. This aptitude reflects the inherent capacity, or talent of an individual.
Aptitude testing is a student-friendly, universally accepted mode of rating capabilities for a particular activity. Aptitude tests are known to be reliable predictors of future scholastic achievements as they provide a profile of strengths and weakness of a student.
What is Genesis of SGAI : The CBSE has become the first Board in the Country to introduce the concept of aptitude testing in 2011, followed by the second edition in 2012. It is aimed at empowering an adolescent with "Self-knowledge" in terms of the aptitude in contribution with personality, interest etc.
This exam (CBSE SGAI) is meant for class 10 students and is an optional activity, for schools and students. Prior to the administration CBSE SGAI is pre tested for its efficacy. A pilot test is conducted on a sample of secondary level students drawn from CBSE affiliated Private. Government and Aided Schools from different parts of the Country.
Features of SGAI :
  • The CBSE SGAI is an optional activity meant for class 10 students studying in CBSE affiliated schools across the world.
  • CBSE SGAI is a collection of indices such as aptitude, interest and personality. Unlike the conventional Aptitude Tests, which indicate professional orientations the CBSE SGAI attempts to indicate subject orientations at +2 level.
  • It has been customized to suit the Indian context and variety of student population in CBSE affiliated Private, Government and Aided Schools. CBSE SGAI is not an examination. It is a simple paper and pencil test of 1.5 hours duration.
  • There are NO right or wrong answers, negative marking, pass or fail. No syllabus and special preparation is required for CBSE SGAI.
  • Mental preparedness and sincere responses are the pre-requisites for this test. SGAI scores may depend upon child's environmental stimulus and motivation level.
    CBSE-SGAI should be taken only as an indicator or a facilitator.
  • The purpose of CBSE SGAI is limited to help the larger population including parents, teachers and students to initiate a dialogue on subject choices that lead to effective career planning later in life.
  • Final decision on the subject choices may be taken in consultation with teachers and parents.

JAM 2013 Changes In Exam & Test Schedule

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi conducts the Joint Admission Test (JAM 2013) on Sunday, 10 February 2013 for admission to Integrated Ph.D programmes at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and 2 year M.Sc, Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D Dual degree and other Post-Bachelor's degree programmes at Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) commencing in the session 2013.
Changes in JAM 2013 Exam:
  • JAM 2013 includes the Integrated Ph.D. Programmes at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore.
  • There will be a new JAM test paper on Biological Sciences.
  • No application fee for female candidates.
  • Non programmable calculator is allowed.
  • Entrance to M.Sc.- Ph.D. dual degree programme in Physics at llTK is through the JAM examination followed by an interview at IITK. The interview dates are 10-11 May, 2013.
  • Entrance to Integrated Ph.D. programmes at llSc is through the JAM examination followed by an interview at IISc. The interview dates are 13-16 May, 2013. The written admission tests conducted by llSc for admission to Integrated Ph.D. programmes have been discontinued.
  • Entrance to M.Sc.- Ph.D. dual degree programmes at llTB is through the JAM examination followed by an interview at IITB. The interview dates are 17-19 May, 2013.

The National Board of Examinations (NBE, New Delhi conducts Diploma te National Board Centralized Entrance Test for Super Specialty Courses (DNB CET SS) for admission in to 3 year post Doctoral (MD/MS/DNB) commencing in the session 2013.
CET-SS is a qualifying-cum-ranking examination for entry to various Super Specialty courses. Applicant may kindly note that appearance in CET-SS does not confer any automatic rights to score a seat in NBE accredited hospital /institute.
Eligibility:
  • Candidates who are in possession of post graduate medical degrees/Provisional Pass Certificates by 31st December 2012 in eligible* specialties and their medical qualifications are recognized as per the provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 or DNB qualifications may apply for CET (SS) through online application.
  • Candidate should possess permanent registration certificate of MBBS qualification and their additional medical qualification should be registrable with Medical council of India.
  • Candidate who are qualifying and getting their results after 31st December 2012 or likely to qualify after 31st December 2012 need not apply in the CET - SS exam as they shall be ineligible to participate at any stage of the admission process.
DNB CET SS Test Pattern:
  • CET - SS is an entrance examination and is an essential pre-requisite for entry to post MD/MS/DNB 3-year Super Specialty courses. The next session of entrance examination shall be held on 21st November 2012 and conducted as computer-based test only.
  • The test comprises 180 multiple choice, single correct response questions in English language only.
  • Candidates successful in the CET-SS shall be asked to participate in a Centralized merit based counseling conducted by National Board of Examinations for allotment of DNB seats at NBE accredited Institutions/hospitals/medical colleges in order of their merit and candidate shall be able to opt for the NBE accredited institution/hospital/medical college of their choice as per availability at their merit.
  • There shall be no negative marking.

The National Board of Examination (NBE), New Delhi conducts Diplomate National Board Post Diploma Centralized Entrance Test (DNB PD CET) for admission in to Postgraduate DNB Secondary courses commencing in the session 2013.
PDCET is a ranking examination for entry to various post diploma DNB courses.
Eligibility:
  • Candidates who have passed the final examination leading to the award of Post Graduate Diploma from Indian Universities which are duly recognized as per provisions of Indian Medical Council Act 1956, Govt of India i.e. have passed/Passing the final examinations for Post graduate diploma on or before 31 December 2012 can apply for the Post diploma CET examination in same Broad specialty.
  • Candidate who are qualifying and getting their results after 31st December 2012 or likely to qualify after 31st December 2012 need not apply in the PDCET exam as they shall be ineligible to participate at any stage of the admission process.
  • Candidates already pursuing a MD/MS/DNB course are not eligible to appear for the PDCET till such time they have completed the duration of prescribed course or have been discharged from the course.
DNB PD CET Test Pattern:
  • PDCET is an entrance examination and is an essential pre-requisite for entry to post diploma DNB 2 years post graduate courses and conducted as computer-based test only.
  • The test comprises 180 multiple choice, single correct response questions of 1 mark each in English language.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India has notified National Board of Examinations (NBE), New Delhi for conducting the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for Postgraduate (PG) Courses commencing in the session 2013.
NBE shall be conducting NEET-PG as a Computer Based Test (CBT).from November 23rd, 2012 to December 6th, 2012 at test centres located at 33 cities across the country. NEET-PG is a mandatory test for gaining entry to MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses at all medical colleges under ambit of PGME Regulation of MCI. No candidate who has failed to obtain the minimum eligibility marks as prescribed, shall be admitted to any Post Graduate course.
Eligibility:
Candidates who are in possession of MBBS degree/Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate from an Institute recognized as per the provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act and possess permanent or provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification issued by the Medical Council of India / State Medical Council and have completed one year of internship or likely to complete on or before 31st March 2013 may apply for NEET-PG through online application system.
NEET PG Test Pattern:
  • NEET-PG is a qualifying-cum-ranking examination for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses in medical institutions recognized for running these courses under ambit of Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations. NEET-PG examination shall be held in November/December 2012 for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses session 2013-14 and conducted as a Computer Based Test.
  • The test comprises 240 multiple choice, single correct response questions in English Language only.
  • The examination shall be a multiple choice questions test delivered using computers network as per scheme prescribed.

AIMS Conducts ATMA 2012 On 9th December
About ATMA : (AIMS Test For Management Admissions) ATMA is an entrance exam conducted by AIMS (Association Of Indian Management Schools). This exam is conducted four times in a year. ATMA is approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India for admission on All India basis to the MBA/PGDM and other Postgraduate Programmes like MCA.
AIMS Announced the Examination Date for the end of this year 2012. Well, the exam is scheduled to be conducted on 9th of December, 2012.
ATMA 2012 Eligibility : Bachelor's degree in any discipline. Students appearing for their final year examinations are also eligible to apply.
ATMA 2012 Test Pattern : The test contains 170 questions spread over six sections. Each sections is scheduled separately. Exam duration is of three hours. The sections consists of Analytical Reasoning skills, Qualitative Skills and Verbal Skills.
The complete details on section, duration and number of questions is as shown below :
Section A : Quantitative Skills-I , 30 Questions and 35 Minutes.
Section B : Verbal Skills-I, 25 Questions, and 30 Minutes.
Section C : Analytical Reasoning Skills-I, 30 Questions and 30 Minutes.

Analytical Skills : The Questions on Analytical Skills examine the logical thinking abilities of a candidate. Do remember that a particular Question is less important than the reasoning task you are asked to perform. No specialized knowledge of any particular field is required for answering the questions and no knowledge of the terminology and conventions of formal logic are presumed. In answering some questions, it may be useful to draw a rough diagram. For each answer, select the best answer from the choices given, darken the corresponding circle provided n the answer sheet.
Quantitative Skills : For each of the Quantitative Skills, select the correct or the best of the answer choices numbered (1) (2) (3) and (4) and darken the respective circle of your choice provided in the answer sheet. Figures that accompany questions are intended to provide information useful in answering the questions. However, unless it is stated a specific figure is not drawn to scale, the diagrams and figures are drawn as accurately as possible, you should solve these problems NOT by estimating sizes by sight or by measurement, but by using your knowledge of mathematics.
Verbal Skills : The questions on verbal skills test your recognition of correct grammatical usage, vocabulary and familiarities with words, your understanding and comprehension of the language (English) while reading and your ability to write clearly and briefly.
Note : The ATMA score after processing of the results will be sent to the management institutes chosen in the form and to the candidates as a scorecard

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi recently announced the conducting new Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) from 2013.
The students have to take the new Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) for admissions in to IITs, NITs, IIITs, Deemed Universities and other central funded technical institutions from April and June 2013. The Joint Entrance Exam will be conducted in two parts, JEE Mains and JEE Advanced.
The revised JEE 2013 pattern is as follows:
  • Name of the examination shall be Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).
  • JEE Shall be held in two parts, JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
  • All candidates should take JEE (Main). JEE (Main) should be gate way for JEE (Advanced).
  • Only the top 1.5 lakh candidates based on the performance in JEE (Main), will qualify to appear in the JEE (Advanced) examination. Admission to IITs will be based only on category wise All India Rank in JEE (Advanced).
  • For admission to NITs, Centrally funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) like IIITS etc and participating institutions, he merit/ rank list shall be prepared based on 40$ weightage to board exams marks in Class 12 and 60% of marks weightage to JEE (Main).
  • In case any state opts to admit students in the engineering colleges affiliated to State universities and the state require separate merit list to be provided based on some other weightages for class 12/ equivalent examination & JEE (Main), then the merit list shall be prepared with such relative weightages as may be indicated by states.
  • Those students who have appeared in the class 12 board examination / equivalent in 2012 and wish to improve upon their performances for the purpose of JEE (Main) / JEE (Advanced) will be required to appear in all subjects as per scheme again from their respective boards in 2013.
  • The proposed changes shall be effective from the year 2013.
